Poker Aces – the right way to play them
Poker Aces references two aces being dealt pre-flop. It’s the strongest possible before theflop hand inTexas Holdem Poker. But regardless many players end up on the losing end when given this hand.
When you are given a set of Aces, you just don’t drop out pre-flop. You are sitting with the greatest achievable hand at this stage of the round. So how do you gamble with Poker Aces ? Do you simply go all-in? I would say absolutely no to that.
Remember, you are trying to acquire as much money out of this strong position. You want to maximise the opportunity. Going all-in will basically scare most players into dropping out without putting a wager.
If you are in the starting position (first or second to cast a bet), you will make a single bet. Anybody with decent cards will call, hopefully a player might raise. If someone has made a raise don’t hop to re-raise or call, wait for a small bit – make them think you’re considering your options and then call.
After the flop your plan will be to get rid of anybody that could be able to get a straight or a flush. So I would start to raise aggressively, if you’re fortunate you’ll fool 1 player into believing that you are bluffing.
If you are in the middle or late spot (one of the last to place a wager) you will observe as everyone calls and then raise. Even with you sitting with a pair of aces, if possible try to avert a show-down. Guard your hand by forcing the other players fold following the flop. If you don’t force out your competitors you risk squandering your hand.
