NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor on the globe by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before his first birthday. His grandfather showed him to penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover every little thing he could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the adverse feedback from others kill his dream of being one of the best poker players in the world.

He started competing intently after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first few years for Phil were a learning period and winning was not a regular thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he made two final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he defeated a number of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an undying love for poker. He says that he is picking up skills every day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making blunders every single session of poker and constantly strives to improve.

Although Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a normal basis.
