No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker player in the world by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching the age of one. His papa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to learn every little thing he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the adverse feedback from other people annihilate his ambition of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors in the world.
Phil started competing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning few years for him were a teaching period and winning wasn’t a common thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved 2 final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed quite a few of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and a continuing love for poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his success. Phil knows he makes mistakes every single session of poker and always strives to improve.
Although Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a normal basis.
