NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker contender on the globe by many of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before his first birthday. His grandfather taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to discover every little thing he could about poker. He routinely told his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the adverse comments from other people destroy his ambition of becoming one of the best poker players on the planet.
Phil began competing seriously after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he defeated many of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an eternal love for poker. Phil states that he is learning every day and is incredibly humble about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making blunders in each session of poker and always aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some large tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a normal basis.
