NL Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker contender on the globe by many of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover every little thing he could about poker. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the adverse feedback from other people annihilate his goal of being one of the greatest poker competitors in the world.
Phil began playing seriously after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a learning opportunity and winning was not a common outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his success to dedication and an eternal love for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every single day and is quite abashed about his success. Phil admits to making mistakes every single session of poker and constantly strives to improve.
Although Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying cash games on a regular basis.
