NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker contender on the globe by quite a few of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching the age of one. His papa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover every little thing he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t let the detrimental comments from other people annihilate his dream of becoming one of the best poker players on the planet.
Phil began competing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first few years for Phil were a teaching period and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed a number of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and a continuing love for the game of poker. He says that he is learning every single day and is incredibly abashed about his success. Phil admits to making blunders in each game of poker and constantly strives to improve.
Although Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a regular basis.
