NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been labeled as the number one poker competitor on the planet by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before his first birthday. His grandpa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover whatever he could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil did not let the adverse feedback from other people kill his dream of being one of the strongest poker players in the world.
He started competing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and coming away with a win was not a regular thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved two final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed a number of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable passion for poker. Phil states that he is picking up skills every day and is very humble about his achievements. Phil admits to making blunders every single session of poker and constantly strives to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a regular basis.
