NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been labeled as the number one poker contender on the globe by quite a few of the top professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching the age of one. His papa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to pickup anything he possibly could about poker. Phil would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the negative comments from other people kill his goal of becoming one of the strongest poker players in the world.
Phil started competing seriously after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching period and winning was not a common outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he defeated a number of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an immeasurable passion for poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every single day and is very abashed about his success. Phil knows he makes errors in each session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.
Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a normal basis.
